COACHES COMMENT: "A tremendous day for Sydney today in the sprints," said Calvin head track and field coach
Adam Haldorson. "She's off to a great start and running well but there is still work to be done tomorrow so our focus will be on that. Our distance medley relay team ran well. The rest of the field was very strong this year and our (relay) team gave it their all. They can hold their heads high with their performance without question. Three of the four in the relay were making their first appearance at a national championship meet and they performed admirably and will grow from this experience. Sophie ran an outstanding final (mile) leg and will get to run again tomorrow which we are looking forward to."
NEXT UP: The second and final day of competition at the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
