Calvin Men’s Tennis Drops Match to Spring Arbor

ALBION, Mich. – The Calvin University men's tennis team lost a tough match to Spring Arbor 7-0 on Wednesday.

Spring Arbor (4-3) started strong in doubles, taking the one overall point thanks to wins by the scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-3.

Calvin (0-3) fought hard to get back into the match in singles, but came out on the wrong end of three third-set tiebreakers, as well as another tiebreaker in the second set that could have extended that match.

Caleb Bartels (Loch Lloyd, Mo./Kansas City Christian) lost his two-singles match 6-3, 3-6, 0-1 (7-10) in a third set tiebreaker, as did Mario Neto (Boa Vista, Brazil/Reino) in five-singles by a final of 3-6, 6-3, 0-1 (7-10).

Tanner Warners (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) lost in six-singles 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (4-10), while Diego Castellanos (Tanja, Bolivia/La Salle Tarija) lost in four-singles 3-6, 6-7 (2-7) in a second-set tiebreaker.
