Calvin University junior Drew Garrison was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week for men's lacrosse.
 
Garrison (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) won the honor after a strong performance on defense for the Knights in an 11-8 season-opening win over Capital University on Saturday, February 14.
 
In the win, Garrison led a defensive effort that held Capital to only three goals in the first three periods and recorded a team-best five ground balls and four caused turnovers while playing a key role in holding Capital to a 59 percent clear percentage for the game.
 
The award is the second of the week for Garrison, who was also named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse on Tuesday.
 
Calvin men's lacrosse is 1-0 on the season and will return to action when it plays at Illinois Tech on Saturday, February 21, starting at 1:00 PM (CT).
