Calvin Women’s Soccer Defeats Greenville to Complete Weekend Trip

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Today the Calvin women's soccer team continued their weekend road trip today when they took on the Panthers of Greenville. After falling on the road against top ranked Washington University the Knights were thrilled to bounce back today when they were able to pull out the 1-0 victory.

Calvin didn't wait long to get on the board as junior Mikaela Waroway (Ann Arbor, Mich./Father Gabriel Richard) fired a shot into the top right corner of the net just thirteen minutes into the match.

For the rest of the game offenses was hard to come by for both teams although it was not for lack on Calvin's part. The Knights outshot Greenville 16-2 while six of those shots were on goal as Calvin walked away with the 1-0 win..

Senior goalkeeper Kalex Dodge (Leslie, Mich./Leslie) finished the game without facing any shots on goal as the Knights defense quickly snuffed out any attacking opportunities the Panthers tried to produce.

COACHES COMMENTS: "We are happy to be headed home with a win today," said head coach Emily Ottenhoff. "We had hoped to capitalize on a few more of our opportunities but that is something we need more work on. We'll get back to work on Monday to prep for another big week ahead."

UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, September 10th when they return home to take on North Central at 7PM.
