Calvin University sophomore wide receiver
Luke Michmerhuizen was named MIAA Football Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Michmerhuizen (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) won the award after a strong performance in Calvin's 40-37 overtime win at Heidelberg University on Saturday.

Michmerhuizen helped the Knights to the win with 10 receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown catch in overtime.

The sophomore wideout leads Calvin this season in receptions (18), receiving yards (246) and receiving touchdowns (five). His five touchdown grabs is also tied for the most among MIAA players this season.

This marks the second straight week a Calvin player has earned MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors, following
Hunter Hogan's (Ravenna, Mich./Ravenna) honor last week.

Calvin football will return to action on Saturday, September 27, when the 3-0 Knights face 3-0 Kalamazoo College in the MIAA opener at 7:00 PM to cap off Homecoming Saturday. Saturday's game against Kalamazoo is presented by The DeNooyer Automative Family.Â
