KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Calvin University women's golf team finished its second round at the Midwest Region Classic on Saturday at Brighton Dale Links before weather canceled the rest of the event for many of the 39 teams at the event.
The Knights finished day one in 13th place following a first-round tally of 332 and shaved 11 strokes off that total on Saturday with a team score of 321.
Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) and
Kayla Adkins (Springfield, Ill./Springfield) tied for the best round of the day for Calvin with matching scores of 78. Diemer closed the two days with a 7-over par total of 151, while Adkins shaved 19 strokes off her Friday score.
Brooke Haney (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) shot 81 for Calvin, followed by
Ava McConnon (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) shot 84.
Gina Sonday (Portland, Mich./Portland) was the fifth Calvin player and shot 86 on Saturday.

Kayla Adkins had a really nice turnaround from yesterday and Andrea (Diemer) continued her strong play into day two. Everybody had good stretches today."
NEXT UP: Calvin women's golf will return to action on Monday, September 22, when it hosts MIAA Jamboree #1 at Thornapple Pointe Golf Course.
