FOSTORIA, Ohio - Today the Calvin women's golf team participated in day one of the Heidelberg Invitational where they finished in third place out of a field of sixteen teams.

The Knights finished the round with a team score of 318, just one stroke behind second place Hope while Mount Union claimed the top stop.

Junior
Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) was Calvin's top performer today as she finished in sixth place with a score of 77. Sophomore
Brooke Haney (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) also cracked the top ten in ninth place with a score of 78 while freshman
Ava McConnon (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) finished in nineteenth place after shooting a score of 81.

Senior
Gina Sonday (Portland, Mich./Portland) rounded out the scoring for the Knights when she finished in twenty-fourth with a score of 82. While her score did not contribute to the team score, fellow senior
Kayla Adkins (Springfield, Ill./Springfield) also competed today and finished her round with a score of 89.  Â
COACHES COMMENTS: "We had a lot of good things happen out on the course today to finish with our lowest team score of the season so far this season," said head coach
Jerry Bergsma. "We'll need to sharpen up a few things and finish out our rounds stronger tomorrow to improve on our performance today."
