RESULTS

SAUGATUCK, Mich – Calvin concluded competition at the two-day Calvin/Hope Kickoff Challenge on Saturday. Friday's opening 18-hole round was hosted by Calvin at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Club. Hope played host on Saturday at the Clearbrook Golf Club.

Both schools featured an "A" and a "B" team side with individuals also competing for each team.

After opening with a day one team total of 334 strokes, Calvin's A team came in at 343 on Saturday for a two-day total of 677 strokes that was good for second place. Calvin's B team side had a 384 on Friday and then came in at 381 on Saturday for a weekend total of 381 strokes that was good for fourth place. Hope's A team took first with 664 strokes (329-335) with its B team placing third at 688 (341-347).

Sophomore Brooke Haney (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester HS) shared overall medalist honors with a two-day total of 159 strokes, shooting 75 on Friday and 84 on Saturday. Haney was the top finisher for Calvin's A team. Senior Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) was next for the Knights at 167 after shooting 85 Friday and 82 on Saturday. Freshman Ava McConnon (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) came in at 175, shooting 85 on day one and 90 on day two. Senior Kayla Adkins (Springfield, Il./Springfield HS) carded a tournament score of 177, shooting 90 on Friday and 87 on Saturday. Senior Gina Sonday (Portland, Mich./Portland HS) recorded a score of 183, shooting 89 on Friday and 94 on Saturday.

Calvin's B' team was paced by freshman Elizabeth Van Dusseldorp (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS). She carded a two-day total of 184, shooting rounds of 89 and 95. Junior Ava Endelman (Las Vegas, Nev. / Faith Lutheran HS) came in at 188 (93-95). Freshman Bibian Kim (Holland, Mich./Culver Academies) had a strong Saturday, shooting 90 after carding a round of 105 on Friday to finishing at 195 for her final weekend score. Freshman Elizabeth Lubowicki (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) recorded a weekend score of 198 after shooting 97 on Friday and 101 on Saturday. Freshman Sammy Davidson (Costa Mesa, Calif. / Pacifica Christian - Orange County) shot 105 on Friday and 101 on Saturday for a weekend score of 206.

Individuals for Calvin included freshman freshman Kiera Bishop (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS), (103-98-201), freshman Isabella Rutherford (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian HS), (94-108-202), senior Preslie Riggs (Genesee, Mich./Genesee HS) (91-112-203) and freshman Chloe Kwon (Los Angeles, Calif. South Pasadena), (117-107-224).

Calvin returns to action next Friday when it competes at the Olivet Invitational at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan.
