Calvin University Announces 2025 Football Broadcast Partners

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin University is pleased to announce its broadcast partners and broadcast team for its 2025 football season.

Veteran announcer and current Calvin Director of Corporate Partnerships and Athletics Sponsorships Bob Sack will serve as Calvin's play-by-play voice and will call all 10 games home and away. Color analysis will feature former WXMI Fox-17 Sports Director Jason Hutton and former Western Michigan University and NFL quarterback Tim Hiller with Calvin Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Timmer also contributing with select road games.

All 10 Calvin football games will be broadcast through Michigan Sports Radio (Michigansportsradio.com) with home games including video and away games including just audio. A live video of all five of Calvin's home games will air on Calvinknights.com. In addition, all 10 games will be carried on 50,000 watt Grand Rapids radio station iHeart 96.1 FM – The Game - and will also feature audio streaming through its Iheart.com radio app.

All five Calvin home football games will air live on WXSP-TV Nexstar Media Inc. which is available in 14 counties throughout southwest Michigan.

In addition, Inside Calvin Football, a weekly half-hour live show featuring Calvin head football coach Trent Figg will debut this fall. The half-hour show will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7-7:30 p.m. running from September 30-November 11. It will be held at Big E's Sports Grill on the East Beltline Avenue location in Grand Rapids with the public invited to attend. Hosted by Bob Sack, the program will air on Michigan Sports Radio and iHeart Radio's 96.1 FM The Game.

"We are thrilled to offer a variety of options to watch and/or listen to this second season of Calvin University football," said Calvin Director of Athletics Dr. Jim Timmer. "Such a large broadcast network is even more important this year, given the limited seating of our temporary stadium. Having Bob Sack as our lead broadcast voice provides a great foundation. Jason Hutton and Tim Hiller are about as knowledgeable as they come in terms of West Michigan football over the years, so we have a great broadcast team. I am also grateful to our broadcast production technicians at Calvin who are working hard to showcase a high-quality product. Finally, I would like to thank the folks from iHeart Radio's 96.1 FM The Game Radio and WXSP-TV for providing Calvin University the platforms to air this exciting season. It is humbling to see this type of response from the West Michigan broadcast community."

The Calvin University football program is under the direction of head coach Trent Figg. Figg will lead his 117-member team into season two this fall which includes full participation in the 2025 MIAA conference season as well as three non-conference contests. All five of Calvin's home games will be played on campus at the Calvin Soccer Stadium.
