The Calvin University women's volleyball team was picked to finish second out of nine schools in the MIAA Preseason Poll released by the conference on Wednesday.

The Knights received 13 total points and three first-place votes in the poll, finishing behind only Hope College with 10 points and six first-place votes.

Calvin, under the direction of head coach Dr.
Amber Warners, finished the 2024 season 19-8 overall and second place in the MIAA with a 7-1 conference record.

This season, the Knights are led by seniors
Aerin Baker (Saugatuck, Mich./Saugatuck) and
Emma Ekblaw (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton). Baker is a two-time All-MIAA First Team and First Team AVCA All-District performer, while Ekblaw earned All-MIAA Second Team honors in 2024 and AVCA All-Region in 2023. Junior
Jasmine Namminga (Pella, Iowa/Pella) also earned All-MIAA Second Team in 2024.

Calvin will open the 2025 regular season on Friday, August 29, when it begins a two-day tournament at Central College against University of Dubuque, followed by matches against Central and Buena Vista University on August 30. The Knights will open MIAA play on September 30 when it plays at Hope.
