Calvin University women's tennis players
Catherine Grissom and
Tessa Holman were both named All-MIAA Second Team on Wednesday in the conference's postseason awards announcement.
The two Knights were recognized for their performances following a regular season in which Calvin finished 13-5 overall and 5-3 in MIAA play.
Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) earned the first All-MIAA recognition of her career as a senior this season thanks to a 16-3 overall singles record. In MIAA play, Grissom went 7-1 in singles at the number-three spot in the line-up.
In doubles, Grissom primarily played in the number-one spot and went 4-4 in MIAA play and 11-8 overall.
Holman (Washington, Mich./Romeo) earned her second All-MIAA recognition after also being named All-MIAA Second Team in 2024. The junior played at the top of the singles line-up throughout the season and finished with a 6-11 record overall and was 3-5 in MIAA play.
In doubles, Holman played mostly on the number-three team and finished 15-4 overall and 6-2 in MIAA play.
Calvin women's tennis won its MIAA Tournament First Round match-up against Adrian College on April 28 and advanced to the MIAA Tournament Semifinals to face top seed Hope College today (April 30) at 4:00 PM.
