Following the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships, hosted by Augustana University, this weeke3nd,
the association announced its yearly awards winners, All-American Team, All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll.
In its first year of competition, the Calvin women's acrobatics and tumbling team landed nine student-athletes were named to the NCATA Academic Honor Roll. The number means that 50 percent of Calvin's rostered first-year acrobatics and tumbling athletes received the academic award.
In order to be named to the NCATA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of 3.30 or higher and be on their team's active roster.

Tatum DeSchutter (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada/Nanaimo District), freshman base
Ellerie Poel (Fairfax, VA Homeschool), freshman top
Alicia Wang (Bejing, China Unity Christian) and freshman base
Sam Smith (Chesterfield, MI/Romeo).
Under the direction of head coach
Ellen Barker, Calvin concluded its first season of competition in event finals on April 12 at the NCATA DIII Tournament, hosted by Buffalo State University. During the tournament, Calvin recorded the first two dual meet victories in program history, defeating both Adrian and Buffalo State.
