2024-25 D3hoops.com All-American Teams
Calvin's
Uchenna Egekeze has been named to the D3hoops.com All-America Second Team. It marks the second straight year he has been named a D3hoops.com All-American. Egekeze (Huntley, Il./Huntley HS) was named a D3hoops.com All-America Third Team selection in 2024.
It also marks the second All-America award of the week for the graduate student as he was named an NABC Division III All-America First Team choice earlier this week.
Egekeze was selected to play in the NABC Division III All-Star game in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The game took place on Saturday and Egekeze scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots and collected one steal in helping Team Fenlon defeat Team Lambert 104-92.
Earlier this week, he was named to the D3hoops.com Region 7 Player of the Year and to the D3hoops.com Region 7 First Team. In addition, he was named the NABC District 7 Player of the Year as well as the NABC District 7 First Team.
Egekeze recently wrapped up a standout collegiate career with the Knights. Last month, he was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first individual in MIAA men's basketball history to receive both awards. He averaged 14.8 points and 6.0 rebounds a game while collecting 54 steals and 29 blocked shots. He was named to the 2025 All-MIAA First Team.
Over the course of his collegiate career, Egekeze was a three-time All-MIAA First Team selection and a three-time MIAA Defensive Player of the Year choice. Â He finished his career as the all-time Calvin men's basketball leader with 221 career steals. He also finished fourth in career assists (277), fifth in career blocks (135), and ninth in career points (1,581).
During his career, helped Calvin capture three MIAA regular season titles, three trips to the NCAA III Tournament and one MIAA Tournament crown. During his collegiate career, Calvin posted an overall won-loss record of 98-30. That run included four straight 20-win campaigns.
