The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association has named its 2024 All-Academic team and individual recipients in women's cross country and the Calvin women's cross country team has received accolades on both counts.
Led by head coach
Nicole Kramer, the Calvin men's team posted a team cumulative grade point average this past fall of 3.862Â after posting a 3.759Â GPA the year before. In order to receive the award, teams must post a minimum team GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. With a 3.862 grade point average, Calvin had the fourth-highest GPA of any of the 222 women's cross country teams honored with the team academic award.
Individually, Calvin had five individuals receive USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Those five individuals are seniors
Jenna Allman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Saline HS) and
Natalie Tebben (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian HS), junior Sophie Bull (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) and freshmen
Ellia Agar and
Alexis Ball.Â
Allman has a triple-major of sociology, social work and psychology. Tebben is majoring in speech pathology. Bull has a major of kinesiology with an emphasis on becoming a physician's assistant. Agar is a secondary education major while Ball is a speech pathology major.
Individuals needed to have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater on a 4.0 scale through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 25 percent at their respective NCAA III Regional Championships.
All four of Calvin's individuals that received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors competed at the NCAA III Championships. The Knights took 15th at the NCAA III Championships, earning a spot at the national meet for the 19th consecutive year.
