TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Today the Calvin women's cross country team closed out their 2024 season when they competed in the NCAA III Championships.

Going into today's event Calvin was ranked twenty-second nationally. However, with a team score of 433 the Knights claimed fifteenth place, marking their highest team finish since 2016 when they placed ninth.

Junior Sophia Bull (Denver, Colo./Denver Christian) was the top finisher for the Knights as she posted a race time of 21:37.2 in twenty-eighth place which was enough to earn her All-American status.

Senior Jenna Allman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Saline) was the next runner to cross the finish line for Calvin with a time of 22:04.8 while Natalie Tebben (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian) wasn't far behind at 22:12.9. Sophomore Hailey Erickson (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) and freshman Ellia Agar (Grand Rapids, Mich./South Christian) rounded out the scoring for the Knights when they crossed at 22:57.4 and 23:14.5, respectively.

Freshman Alexis Ball (Grand Rapids, Mich./Traverse City Central) and sophomore Alaina Smith (Sterling, Ill./Seoul Foreign Schools) also competed in the field with Ball posting a time of 23:31.1 and Smith finishing at 24:22.6.

COACHES COMMENTS: "Our team performed very well on the national stage today, and it's exciting to have capped off the season on a high note," said head coach Nicole Kramer. "We improved upon our ranking and finished in the top half of this loaded field. We are all elated for Sophie Bull, who ran incredible to earn her second All-American honor and first in cross country! Jenna Allman and Natalie Tebben also ran huge races for the team, and easily their best Nationals performance in their careers. Jenna did a great job of keying off of Sophie and used her experience to make every step count. Natalie ran tough to close the gap up to Jenna, passing athletes throughout the race including 23 in the last 1k. Our fourth through seventh runners also performed solid – Hailey, Ellia, Alexis and Alaina have all stepped up in big ways for the team this year! "
