NOTRE DAME, Ind. – A trio of Calvin distance runners had big performances at the University of Notre Dame Meyo Invitational on Saturday. Competing for the Knights were senior
Luke Witvliet (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) in the men's 3,000 meters, junior Sophie Bull (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) in the women's 3,000 meters and senior Natalie Tebben (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian HS) in the women's mile run.
In the men's 3,000, Witvliet took second in his heat, filled with Division I runners. He finished the race in a career-best time of 8:18.94 which ranks 16
th nationally, number-one in the MIAA indoor list and second on the all-time Calvin Indoor Top 10 list, trailing only the time of 8:17.93 turned in by
Thaine Nederveld in 2023.
In the women's 3,000 meters, Bull turned in a career-best time of 9:59.17. Her time ranks 24
th nationally, is No. 1 on the MIAA indoor list and ranks sixth on the all-time Calvin Indoor Top 10 list.
Tebben had the final race for the Knights and she turned in a sparkling performance in the women's mile run, clocking in with a career-best time of 5:03.72. Her time ranks 38
th nationally, is No. 1 on the MIAA performance list and seventh on the Calvin All-Time Top 10 performance list.
