Hannah Sall Named MIAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the Second Time

Calvin University junior Hannah Sall was named MIAA Player of the Week for women's basketball on Monday.

Sall (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) won the honor after leading the Knights to a pair of wins last week at Wilmington College (82-51) and at home against ninth-ranked UW-Whitewater (61-53).

After finishing with nine points and five rebounds against Wilmington, Sall recorded 13 points, nine rebounds and nine blocks in the eight-point win over top-10 UW-Whitewater. Sall's nine blocks set a new career high and helped the Knights hold the Warhawks to 30.3 percent shooting from the field.

This season, Sall is averaging 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game to lead the 3-3 Calvin women's basketball team in non-conference play.

This marks the second time Sall has earned MIAA Player of the Week honors, having previously won the award following the MIAA Tournament last season.

Calvin women's basketball will return to action on Saturday, December 6, when it hosts University of Chicago at 5:00 PM at Van Noord Arena.
