Tryna Vander Zwaag was named MIAA Specialist of the Week for volleyball on Monday.

Vander Zwaag (Hamilton, Mich./Holland Christian) earned the honor after a big performance in the Knights' 3-1 win at Albion College on Friday, October 31.

In the win over the 21-4 Britons, Vander Zwaag tied a career high with 28 digs (7.0 per set) from her libero position, nearly doubling her season average for digs per set. She also averaged 1.25 assists per set to help the Calvin attack and had a perfect 1.000 serve percentage in 14 serves.

This season, Vander Zwaag leads Calvin with an average of 3.65 digs per set to go with 1.27 assists per set from the libero spot. She also has 20 service aces for the season.

The 21-3 Calvin volleyball team will return to action on Wednesday, November 5, when it hosts The University of Olivet in the final home match of the season. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM.
