Aerin Baker Reaches 1,000 Career Kills Milestone

Calvin University senior women's volleyball player Aerin Baker recorded her 1,000th career kill in the Knights' 3-1 win at Albion College on Friday, October 31.
 
Baker (Saugatuck, Mich./Saugatuck) needed only two kills to reach the milestone and recorded 11, giving her 1,009 for her career.

A three-year starter at outside hitter, Baker is a two-time All-MIAA First Team and two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-Region honoree. She is also a two-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-American and two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree.
 
This season, Baker leads Calvin with a career-best average of 3.67 kills per set with a .246 attack efficiency. She also averages 1.89 digs per set and has 27 service aces on the season.
 
Baker is the first Calvin women's volleyball player to reach the 1,000 career kills milestone since Heidi Westa went over that mark during the 2022 season.
 
Calvin women's volleyball is 21-3 on the season, including a 5-1 MIAA record. The Knights just finished a 9-0 month of October and enter the final week of the regular season with two matches remaining on the conference schedule. Calvin will host The University of Olivet on Wednesday, November 5, at 6:30 PM, followed by the regular season finale at Alma College on Friday, November 7, at 6:30 PM.
