Calvin University junior Elise Bajwa was named MIAA Women's Swimmer of the Week on Monday.
 
Bajwa (Bethesda, Md./Brookewood School) earned the honor after a stellar Calvin Quad Meet over the weekend at Venema Aquatic Center.
 
Competing against swimmers from Carthage College, Ohio Northern University and Albion College, Bajwa posted an NCAA 'B' cut qualifying time of 1:04 in the 100 Breaststroke that currently ranks first in the MIAA and second in NCAA III this season. She also finished second in the 200 Breaststroke in 2:24 that ranks second in the MIAA and 11th in NCAA III.
 
On top of those finishes, Bajwa took third place in the 50 Freestyle and was part of first-place finishes for the 200 Freestyle, 200 Medley and 400 Medley Relay teams.
 
Calvin swimming and diving will return to action on Saturday, November 8, when it competes at Wheaton College (Ill.) in a dual meet that is scheduled to start at 1:00 (CT).
