GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin University women's tennis team closed the fall portion of its schedule with a 7-0 defeat to Davenport University on Saturday at Gainey Athletic Complex.
Davenport (3-0) started the match by winning the doubles point as Calvin (0-2) dropped all three matches to the NCAA II program by the scores of 6-3, 7-5 and 6-2.
In singles,
Ana Ornellas (Londrina, Brazil/Colegio Saber) took her number-four match to a third-set tiebreaker after winning the first set 6-4, but lost the second set 4-6 and then the tiebreaker 6-10.
The Panthers were able to win the other five singles contests in straight sets to secure the win.
NEXT UP: Calvin women's tennis will return to action in 2026, which will include its trip to Orlando, Florida, over spring break before starting conference play in the spring.
