UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Calvin University women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) its first team match of the 2025-26 season on Saturday.
Playing against NCAA II competition, Calvin (0-1) was unable to score a point in either singles or doubles as SVSU (2-0) swept the three doubles matches for the lone doubles point, and then won all six singles matches in straight sets.
SVSU won the doubles point thanks to wins by the scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-3.
In singles play, the Cardinals continued that momentum with straight sets wins in all six contests.
