Calvin University senior Corgan Schaumburg was named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Schaumburg (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) won the honor following a strong performance in goal for the Knights in a 9-8 overtime win over Adrian on Saturday, April 6, to open MIAA play.
 
In the overtime win, Schaumburg made 15 saves for a .652 save percentage, including five key stops in the fourth quarter as the Knights overcame a second-half deficit to force extra time.
 
The win over the Bulldogs pushed Calvin's winning streak to four and improved its record to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.
 
Calvin men's lacrosse returns to action tomorrow (Tuesday, April 9) when it travels to Hope College for a game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
