Calvin Men's Volleyball Falls in Battle Against Mount St. Joseph

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Today the Calvin men's volleyball team traveled to Ohio where they fell Mount St. Joseph in four sets with scores of 22-25, 23-25, 25-22 and 28-26.

After today's match the Knights fell to 6-18 overall and 3-5 in MCVL play while the Lions improved to 6-14 overall and 2-6 in MCVL play.

Junior Gabriel Laughlin (Grand Rapids, Mich./West Michigan Aviation Academy) led the attack for the Knights with a career high 20 kills while fellow junior Arie Padmos (Martinez, Calif./Contra Costa Christian) chipped in 11 kills. Freshman Brady Gudauskas (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) finished his night with eight kills and Nick Bultje (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian) had six kills.

Senior Ethan Wilstermann (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) had four kills, two block assists and one solo block while sophomore freshman setter Cameron Dogger (Holland, Mich./Zion Christian) led the team in both digs (14) and assists (40).

Sophomore Parker Steele (Boscobel, Wis./Boscobel) had six assists and 10 digs.

COACHES COMMENTS: "We unfortunately let the game come down to things outside of our control," said head coach Spencer Fredrick. "We will be ready to bounce back tomorrow against a really good opponent."

UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action tomorrow Saturday, April 27th for their final game of the season against Wittenberg. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Springfield, Ohio.
