Calvin (6-0) started off the win in doubles by taking all three points. The top team ofÂ
Maurquis Willingham (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) andÂ
Emmanuel Henao (Medellin, Columbia/Escuela Normal Superior "La Merced") won a close 8-7 battle thanks to a tiebreaker to earn the final points, while the number-two team ofÂ
Felipe Sartori (Cotia, Brazil/Colégio Giusto Zonzini) andÂ
Rodrigo Alipio (Santos, Brazil/COC Universitário) and number-three team ofÂ
Noah Yi (Fullerton, Calif./Valencia) and
Adam Zentner (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) each won 8-3.
In singles, Alipio,
Ryan Broek (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian),
Harrison Sindelar (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) and
Ben Timmermans (Grandville, Mich./Unity Christian) each won in straight sets to secure four points.
Willingham won his number-two singles match 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) in three sets, while
Corwin Kim (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) secured the final point with a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-2) win in three sets.Â
