ORLANDO, Fla. – The Calvin University men's tennis team remains unbeaten following a 6-3 win over Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) on Thursday at the USTA national campus.
Calvin (7-0) dropped the number-one doubles match 8-6, but the number-two team of
Maurquis Willingham (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and
Corwin Kim (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) won in a tiebreaker 8-7 (7-0), and the number-three team of
Ryan Broek (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian) and
Emmanuel Henao (Medellin, Columbia/Escuela Normal Superior "La Merced") won 8-6 to give the Knights a 2-1 overall lead.
CUW (3-5) won the numbers-one and four singles matches, but the Knights took the other four to secure the 6-3 overall win.
Felipe Sartori (Cotia, Brazil/Colégio Giusto Zonzini) (7-5, 6-2), Kim (7-5, 6-0),
Harrison Sindelar (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) (6-0, 6-2) and Henao (6-4, 6-3) each won their match ups in straight sets.
