ORLANDO, Fla. - The Calvin University women's tennis team got off to a good start on its spring break trip with an 8-1 win over Concordia (Minn.) on Monday.
Calvin (6-0) took two out of three in doubles. Concordia (3-10) scored an 8-2 win in number-three doubles, but the top team of 
Catherine Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and 
Rachel Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) won 8-5, and the Knights' number-two team of 
Marina Ribeiro (Santos, São Paulo, Brazil) and 
Julia Hooker (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) won 8-4. 
In singles, 
Tessa Holman (Washington, Mich./Romeo), Ribeiro, 
Catherine Grissom, 
Maggie Shoemaker (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian), 
Delanie Minnema (East Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe) and Hooker each won in straight sets and dropped only 15 total points in those sets.
COACH'S COMMENT: "Today was a good start to our trip," Calvin head tennis coach 
John Ross said. "We're looking forward to a tough match against Wittenberg on Tuesday."
