Calvin University sophomore Nate Hanson was named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week on Monday.
 
Hanson (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) won the honor following a strong performance in a pair of wins for the Knights at Illinois Tech (10-9 on March 20) and at home against Benedictine (12-8 on March 23).
 
During the two games, Hanson was a dominant 33-42 in the faceoff X to help the Knights secure possession after possession in both wins. Hanson won 15 of 22 faceoffs against Illinois Tech, and then won 18 of 20 on Saturday against Benedictine.
 
This marks the second time this season Hanson has won Specialist of the Week honors. He previously won the award on February 19.
 
The Calvin men's lacrosse team is 6-3 so far to start the season. The Knights will return to action on Saturday, March 30, when it hosts North Central in a game scheduled to start at 1:00 PM at Zuidema Field.
