Ethan Boelens Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Calvin University senior Ethan Boelens was named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Boelens (Round Lake, Ill./Grayslake Central) won the honor after helping the Knights to a 1-1 record over their spring break trip to North Carolina, including a 9-7 win over Pfeiffer on March 5.
 
In the win at Pfeiffer, Boelens finished with seven caused turnovers and six ground balls while adding an assist on an early goal. Later in the week, Boelens caused two turnovers and added two ground balls in a loss at Guilford on March 9.
 
This season, Boelens leads Calvin with 17 caused turnovers and is tied for second with 26 ground balls to help the Knights to a 4-2 record to start the year.
 
Calvin men's lacrosse returns to action on Saturday, March 16, when it travels to Aurora for a game scheduled to start at 1:00 PM (CST).
