COACHES COMMENT: "Great season opener for the portion of the team competing today!" said Calvin head track and field coach Adam Haldorsen. "Lots of personal bests, 21 new all-time top 10 marks, and a school record in the 60m! A few specific performances stand out among the many other top marks of the day. Freshman
Simon Vandenbroek won the open high jump competition with a mark of 1.95m (6'4.75"), which was a nearly 2" pr and he had two great attempts at 6'6.75" which would have tied the school record had he cleared it, fantastic way to start his Calvin career! And last but not least
Koby VanderWoude broke the 60m school record, ran a new PR in the 400m; 48.69, and anchored the men's 4x400 A team to a third overall finish at a meet with many Div 1 and Div 2 schools. Great way to cap off the first semester! We'll be back in action after Christmas break in Chicago at the Aurora Invite."
NEXT UP: Calvin will now break until January 25 when it competes at the Aurora Invitational in Aurora, Illinois.
