GRAND RAPIDS, MIch.- The Calvin women's tennis team kicked off conference play today as the Knights took down Adrian with a score of 6-3.
The Knights got out to a quick start as the freshman pairing of
Tessa Holman (Washington, Mich/Romeo HS) and
Julia Hooker (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids HS) won No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-2.
Senior
Alexis Ganop (Riverview, Mich./Riverview Community HS) and sophomore
Maggie Shoemaker (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) were able to follow the trend by securing a win in No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-5.
The Knights kept the momentum as they went on to win four out of the six singles matches. Senior
Emily Schellenboom (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) was able to beat Claire Earley in No. 2 singles by posting a 6-3, 6-4 score.
Sophomore
Catherine Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central HS) took on Liv Depies in No. 4 singles and came out with a 6-0, 6-2 win while Ganop beat Vasiliki Gargasoulas 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 singles.
Marissa Baker (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) rounded out the scoring for Calvin when she secured a 6-1, 6-2 win over Regan Snyder in No. 6 singles.

John Ross. "We were competitive match against a scrappy and driven Adrian team."
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back on the courts on March 25
th when they welcome the Kalamazoo Hornets. Matches are set to begin at 1 p.m.
