GEORGETOWN, Tx. – Calvin closed out its spring trip to Texas with a 20-8 defeat to Eastern University (Pa.).
The Knights fall to 2-3 with the loss.
Calvin trailed 11-2 at halftime and 15-4 after the third quarter before scoring four goals in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin of victory.
Sophomore
Christian Coler (Ionia, NY/ Honeyoye Falls-Lima) had three of Calvin's goals. Senior
Chase Sparling (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) had a pair of goals. Sophomore
Josh Moyer (Laurys Station, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic HS) had one goal as did sophomore
Nick Griffith (Geneva, Fla./Oviedo HS).
Sophomore
Josh Gage (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic HS) had four ground balls for the Knights.
Junior
Corgan Schaumburg (Rockton, Il./Hononegah HS), freshman Soren Thieman (Plano, Tx./Plano Senior HS) and sophomore
Carter Sherman (Ada, Mich./Lowell HS) all saw time in goal for the Knights. Schaumburg had three saves. Thieman had one save and Sherman six saves.
Calvin is back in action next Tuesday, hosting Northwestern University of St. Paul at 4 p.m. at Eagles Stadium on the campus of Grand Rapids Christian High School.
