Calvin University sophomore Christian Coler was named MIAA Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Coler (Ionia, N.Y./Honeyoye Falls-Lima) won the honor after helping the Knights to a dominant 23-11 win at Augustana College in its season opener on Saturday, February 18.

Coler scored a team-high four goals in the game, including two in each half. He helped the Knights take an 8-6 halftime lead with one goal in each of the first two periods (and a second-period assist), and the added two more goals as Calvin out-scored Augustana 15-5 in the second half to secure the win.

With his four-goal performance, the sophomore has already surpassed his total of two goals in 17 games last season.

Coler and Knights return to action for a pair of home contests this week against Illinois Tech and Concordia University (Wis.). Both games will be played at Grand Rapids Christian High School.
