Box Score AURORA, Il. - Calvin Men's Lacrosse took its second loss of the season with a 14-2 defeat at Aurora University on Saturday afternoon.
Calvin drops to 4-2 overall on the season with the defeat.
Aurora scored first in the game, but Robert Miner (Littleton, CO / Columbine) tied things up with a goal at 1-1 early in the first quarter of play The Spartans ran up two quick goals before the end of the period to take a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period.
Aurora had all the momentum on its side in the 2nd period as the Spartans outscored Calvin 6-0 in the period to take a 10-1 lead into halftime.
The Spartans outscored Calvin 2-1 in the fourth quarter and the single goal from Calvin came from senior Chase Sparling (Novi, MI / Novi High School).
Sparling also picked up 6 ground balls for the Knights on the afternoon.
Senior goalkeeper Evan Griffin (Howell, MI / Hartland HS) ended the game with 5 saves for Calvin.
UP NEXT: The Knights will travel to Illinois Tech on Wednesday March 16 for a game slated to start at 5 p.m.
