GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin improved to 2-1 on the dual meet season with an 180-55 victory over Kalamazoo Friday evening at the Venema Aquatic Center.
Calvin opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay as junior William Toomey (Runnels, Ia./Southeast Polk HS), freshman Anthony Crudele (Aurora, Il./Home School), junior Levi VanAst (Zeeland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) and sophomore Forrest Peterson (Middleton, Mn./Middleton HS) won in a time of 1:38.53.
Senior Julian Iturbe (Caracas, Venezuela/Emill Friedman School) won the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 10:05.70. Sophomore Austin Martinson (Aurora, Il./Metea Valley School) won the 200 freestyle (1:48.21) and 100 butterfly (53.83).
Junior Corey Campbell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) was a winner in the 50 freestyle (21.65) and 100 backstroke (54.14). Freshman David Bajawa (Potomac, Md./The Heights School) claimed a victory in the 200 IM (2:02.98).
Senior Bryce Miner (Sunnyvale, Ca./Homestead HS) took home a win in the 100 free in 47.63.
Peterson claimed the 500 freestyle win (4:54.23). Junior Jay Cen (Deerfield, Il./Deerfield HS) won the three-meter diving (245.90) and one-meter diving (248.65).
NEXT UP: Calvin will travel to Wheaton on Saturday for a dual meet scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (EST).
