GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Calvin men's swimming and diving team raced its way to a 163-72 dual meet victory over Alma College Saturday afternoon inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
The Knights are now 3-1 in dual meet competition this season.
Calvin took first place in 10 events. Its 400 medley relay team of senior Noah Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant School), senior Julian Iturbe (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio Emil Friedman School), sophomore Julien Camy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Jacob Heeres (Zeeland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) took first place in a time of 3:20.96.
Camy was a winner in the 100 butterfly (50.27) while Iturbe took a victory in the 50 freestyle (19.95).
Freshman William Walker (Seminole, Fla./Osceoloa Fundamental School) was a winner in the 200 freestyle (147.61). Freshman Austin Martinson (Aurora, Il./Metea Valley School) was the victor in the 200 butterfly (2:00.19).
Senior Sam Norman (Fulton, Il./Fulton HS) took the 100 freestyle (47.70) while sophomore William Toomey (Runnells, Ia./Southeast Polk HS) was the winner in the 200 backstroke (1:55.12).
Sophomore Sam Hoover (Beverly Hills, Mich./Fraser HS) took first place in the 500 freestyle (4:56.40).
Junior Bryce Miner (Sunnyvale, Ca./Homestead HS) was a double-winner, taking first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.21) and 200 breaststroke (2:16.84).
Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it travels to rival Hope for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet at the Holland Aquatic Center.
