GROVE CITY, Pa. - Calvin cruised past Grove City College 180-120 in a Friday night dual meet. The meet featured several events that were changed to short course yardage.
Junior Ryan Gelderloos (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) was a double-winner individually, taking first in the 50 backstroke (24.97) and 100 backstroke (53.65).
In the 1,000 freestyle, freshman Caleb Terschak (Wildwood, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) took home the gold with a first place time of 10:19.09. Senior Brian Goins (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) was a winner in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.81. In the sprints, sophomore Noah Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant Christian HS) took the 50 freestyle (24.97) while freshman Jacob Heeres (Zeeland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) took the 100 freestyle (47.82).
In the 50 butterfly freshman Julien Camy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) took home a first place swim with a time of 23.77.
Calvin's 200 medley relay team of Noah Holstege, senior Sam Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant School), Gelderloos and junior Julian Iturbe (Caracas, Venezeula/Colegieo Emil Friedman School) took first place in 1:36.35. Calvin's 200 freestyle relay of Noah Holstege, Heeres, senior Tristan Hazlett (Lutz, Fla./Home School) and Iturbe capped off the meet with a winning time of 1:25.79.
