Box Score HANCOCK, Mich. – The Calvin women's basketball team improved to 6-0 on the year with a victory over Carroll on Saturday afternoon. The Knights defeated Carroll, 79-40.
The Knights never trailed on Saturday, taking an early 11-0 lead. Senior Anna Timmer (Caledonia, Mich./South Christian) had seven points in the Calvin run.
Calvin would lead 23-6 after the first quarter and head into halftime leading, 42-18.
The third quarter would be all Calvin, with the Knights outscoring the Pioneers, 26-5.
Anna Timmer finished with a game-high 17 points and also finished with six rebounds.
Junior Bre Luurtsema (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) recorded 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Freshman Nicole Meyer (Macomb, Mich./Eisenhower) had a game-high and career-high 13 rebounds. She also notched a career-high four blocks and nine points
Sophomore Rachel Warners (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) filled the stat sheet with nine rebounds, eight points and a game-high five blocks.
Junior Ali Spayde (Lewis Center, Ohio/Worthington Christian) tallied 10 points against the Pioneers.
Freshman Sydney Houlemard (Covington, La./Covington) also had 10 points on Saturday and also notched five rebounds.
The Knights out-rebounded the Pioneers, 47-35.
Calvin scored 50 points in the paint on Saturday.
Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it renews its rivalry at Hope.
