Heather DeKleine

Heather DeKleine heads into her second year as an assistant coach with the Calvin women's basketball program. A 2013 Calvin graduate, DeKleine is no stranger to the Calvin women's basketball program as she was a member of the program from 2011-2013. A combo guard, DeKleine helped Calvin capture three consecutive MIAA regular season crowns, two MIAA Tournament titles and three straight trips to the NCAA III Tournament. As a junior in 2012, she served as a student assistant coach while recuperating from an injury suffered the year prior. Her coaching helped Calvin finish 28-2 and advance all the way to the NCAA III Tournament quarterfinals.

She was graduated from Calvin with a B.A. in Media Production. She later earned her master's degree in education and coaching from Boston University in 2015. After receving her master's degree, she served as an assistant women's basketball coach at Division III Wheelock College from 2015-2017. She then served as an assistant women's basketball coach at Division II Adelphi University from 2017-2019.

DeKleine returned to her alma mater in the summer of 2019. She resides in Grand Rapids. She is one of two members of her family to wear a Calvin women's basketball uniform as her mother Sharon (Boeve) DeKleine was a four-year member of the Calvin women's basketball program from 1982-1985.
