Calvin University

Trevor Van Duyn

A native of Jenison and a 2016 graduate of Jenison High School and recent graduate of Calvin University, Trevor is making the transition from playing to coaching as he joins the baseball coaching staff led by his father, head coach Kevin VanDuyn.  Trevor will be working with the pitching staff after completing his baseball career this past season.

Trevor finished his career last spring at Calvin by posting a 6-1 record with an earned run average of 2.17.  He also recorded 2 saves in two relief appearances.  He started eight games on the mound and had five complete games.  He helped the Calvin baseball team post an overall record of 22-16 including a second-place finish in the MIAA.  In addition to being named first team all-conference in the MIAA, he was named to the Division III All-Mideast Region Third Team by both the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com.

His career numbers include a won-lost record of 18-12 plus 11 saves.  The 11 saves made him the all-time leader in saves plus he is the all-time leader in innings pitched with 255.1.  Trevor also finished second in career strikeouts (186) and appearances (57)   His 18 career wins also moved him into fifth all-time in the Calvin record books.

Trevor is excited about being part of the Calvin University baseball coaching staff and working with the pitchers as we head into a new season.
