Tom Kort is entering his third season on the baseball staff at Calvin University. On the field, Tom works with infielders and assists with hitting. Off the field, Coach Kort runs the social media platforms, camps and has been named the recruiting coordinator for the Knights.

Kort is a native of South Lyon. He attended South Lyon High School and graduated in 2011- as he was a four-year starter for the South Lyon baseball team. After high school, Tom committed to Olivet College to pursue business, marketing, and sports management, while being a four-year starter for the Olivet Baseball team. He graduated with a sports management degree.

At Olivet, Tom played both shortstop and second base. Finding himself in the record books for number two all time for assists in a game (9), number four all time for assists in a career (303), and number seven all time for chances in a career (577). After his four years at Olivet, he coached at Olivet as infield coach and recruiting coordinator.

From Olivet, Tom moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where he was the assistant coach at Byron Center High School. After losing in the Regional Finals game, Tom was then offered to come to Calvin University.

Off the field, Tom owns two businesses, and taps into investment opportunities.

I’m excited to help grow this university and program- but more importantly excited to build better men on and off the field.”

Tom currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his fiancé Amber, dog Luna, and cat Remy.
