Vaughn Meyer was named MIAA Athlete of the Week for men's cross country on Monday.
Meyer (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) won the honor for his performance at Saturday's Knight Invite held at Gainey Athletic Facility.
At the home meet, Meyer battled through very wet and muddy conditions to finish 18th overall and was the top MIAA finisher in the 8k against a number of NCAA II and NAIA runners with a time of 26:13.6.
Meyer's time helped the Knights to a narrow fourth place finish behind second-place (NAIA #16 ranked) Goshen with 91 points and third-place (NCAA II) Davenport with 95. Calvin finished the meet with 100 total points.
Calvin cross country will return to action on Saturday, September 26, at the Adrian Invite hosted by Adrian College.
