GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Calvin picked up an important 4-1 non-conference road win at DePauw University Saturday afternoon. The Knights are now 2-1-1 overall heading into a busy slate of non-conference games while DePauw (3-1-0) tasted defeat for the first time this season.
Calvin scored a pair of first half goals and added two late goals to seal the win.

Matt Torrell (Rochester, N.Y. /The Charles Finney School) popped in his third goal of the season in the 17
th minute, making good on yet another well-placed pass from Nieuwenhuis or a 2-0 Calvin advantage.
DePauw sliced the deficit in half, scoring in the 25
th minute, with the contest eventually sailing into a 2-1 halftime score in favor of the Knights.
Calvin hung on to its 2-1 lead until the closing minutes. With just over 10 minutes left to play, junior Matts Bramer (Dortmund, Germany Bert-Brecht Gymnasium) scored unassisted for the Knights for a 3-1 lead. Nieuwenhuis then got into the goal-scoring act, popping in a shot just 27 seconds later for a 4-1 Calvin lead.
The Knights stood tall the rest of the way to claim the three-goal victory.
Calvin finished with a 9-7 shots at goal advantage. Junior goalkeeper John Hartgett (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) picked up the win in nets, collecting one save.
