The Calvin University women's golf team was picked to finish seventh in the 2026-27 MIAA Preseason Poll released by the conference on Monday.

The Knights finished the poll with 30 total points while Trine topped the standings with 59 points and three first place votes. 

Last season under the direction of head coach Jerry Bergsma the Knights finished sixth in the MIAA Women's Golf Championship after posting an average team score of 323.83. 

Despite needing to replace graduated seniors Gina Sonday and Kayla Adkins, the Knights return several key pieces of last year's team including rising senior Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) and junior Brooke Haney (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester). 

Last season, Diemer led the way for Calvin as she finished eighth individually during MIAA events with an average score of 77.83 and earned an All-MIAA First Team nod for the first time in her career.

Haney finished eleventh individually with an average score of 78.25 while her best score of 75 came in the fourth MIAA Jamboree.

The Knights will open their 2026-27 campaign on Tuesday, September 1st when they compete in the Calvin/Hope kickoff in Saugatuck, Michigan at 2 PM.
