FINAL NCAA D3 Softball NPI Rankings
For the second time in three years, the Calvin softball team has earned a bid to the NCAA III Tournament. The Knights made the cutline for one of the 22 at-large (Pool C) bids to the NCAA III Tournament announced this evening. Calvin's tournament destination and first round opponent will be announced on Monday at 11 a.m. when the NCAA announces its full tournament bracket at
www.ncaa.com.
Calvin finished 33rd in the final NCAA Division III National Power Index (NPI) and was the 14
th team out of 22 to receive an at large-tournament bid.
Calvin is currently 30-13 overall on the season and recently completed a run to the MIAA Tournament Championship game this weekend where the Knights went 3-2 including one win against No. 2 Trine in the Championship series before the Thunder came back to win the final 7-5 and the tournament crown.

At 30-13 overall, Calvin has hit the 30-win plateau for the fourth time in school history and for the second time in three years.. The Knights finished second in the MIAA regular season standings this year at 13-3 behind defending national champion Trine which finished 14-2 in league play.
The Knights faced nine teams that are included in the 2026 NCAA III Tournament field in Swarthmore, Westminster, Simpson, Wartburg, Illinois Wesleyan, Case Western Reserve, Alfred, Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Trine. Calvin posted a 5-9 record against that slate.
Calvin was most recently in the NCAA III Tournament in 2024 when the Knights advanced to a regional final hosted by Case Western Reserve. Calvin won two games at the regional before falling to host Case Western Reserve in the regional final.
