GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin closed out its 2026 MIAA regular season campaign with an 11-6 victory over Kalamazoo College Wednesday night at Calvin Soccer Stadium. The Knights are now 12-3 overall and finish 5-1 in the MIAA, good for second place in the final league standings – marking Calvin's highest-ever league finish.
Calvin gains the No. 2 seed for the upcoming MIAA Tournament and draws a bye to Saturday's first round tournament play. Calvin will host an MIAA Tournament semifinal game next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. against the winner of a first round game between Adrian and Albion.
Calvin overcame 34 turnovers to claim the win against Kalamazoo. The Hornets (6-8 overall, 2-4 MIAA) hung with the Knights throughout the first half. Calvin used late second quarter goals from freshman

Braden Carpenter (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville HS) to gain breathing room and build a 6-3 halftime lead.
Calvin outscored Kalamazoo 5-2 in the third quarter, using two goals from freshman
Braylon Moore (Rockford, Mich./Rockford HS) and single goals from sophomore

Jordan Warners (Orange, Ca./Crean Lutheran HS) to create an 11-5 lead heading into the final quarter of play.
Kalamazoo scored midway through the fourth quarter to make it 11-6 but the scoring was sealed from that point, allowing Calvin to claim the win.
Senior faceoff specialist
Nate Hanson (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) had a strong game to help lead the Knights, winning 16 of 19 faceoffs while scooping up 11 ground balls.
Warners had three goals and three assists. Carpenter had a goal, two assists and three ground balls. Junior
Teddy Hollebeek (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) had a goal and an assist.

Hudson Thiemann and Moore all had two goals apiece with Thiemann and Moore also picking up one assist each. TeBrake had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Drew Garrison (Columbus, Oh./Worthington Kilbourne) came up with three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Senior
Ben Dilly (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) notched five ground balls and one caused turnover. Junior
Sawyer Richards (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) caused three opponent turnovers and scooped up a pair of ground balls.

Riley DeSarbo (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central HS) picked up three ground balls.

Soren Thiemann (Plano, Tx./Plano Senior HS) had 11 saves and four ground balls.
