Calvin University senior Anna Fernandez was named MIAA Player of the Week for women's basketball on Monday.
 
Fernandez (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Christian Academy/Wheaton College) won the honor after helping the Knights to a 2-0 week with wins at Adrian College (73-62) and Kalamazoo College (61-44).
 
Fernandez scored 20 points in both wins, giving her four consecutive games with at least 20 points over the last two weeks. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game and shot 52.0 percent from the field.
 
This season, Fernandez leads Calvin with an average of 16.1 points per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field.
 
This marks the second time Fernandez has been named MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week in her career.
 
Calvin women's basketball returns to action on Wednesday, February 11, when it hosts The University of Olivet in a game scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
