The 142nd meeting between Calvin and Hope in women's basketball is set to take place Saturday at 3 p.m. inside Calvin's Van Noord Arena.

Calvin comes in at 9-8 overall and 4-4 in the MIAA standings. Ranked 9
th nationally, Hope is 15-2 overall and is second in the MIAA standings with an 8-1 conference record.
Calvin leads the all-time series 72-69 but Hope has won 21 of the last 22 meetings. Calvin snapped a 20-game Hope win streak last February with a 66-62 win over the Flying Dutch in the 2025 MIAA Tournament semifinals in Angola, Indiana. Hope won both regular meetings last season, winning 72-64 in Grand Rapids, then winning 77-65 in Holland with the Knights coming back to win in the MIAA Tournament semifinals.
Hope won the first meeting of the 2025-26 season, handing Calvin 67-56 defeat on January 3 at Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse.

Calvin is third in the MIAA in defensive field goal percentage (.372) and fifth in offensive field goal percentage (.394). Hope is the MIAA leader in scoring average (82.2 ppg) and is ranked second in defensive scoring average (51.3 ppg). Hope leads the MIAA in field goal shooting (.464) and is ranked second in defensive field goal percentage (.343).
Calvin is 23rd in Division III in blocked shots per game, swatting away 4.8 opponent shots per contest. Junior
Lydia Sall leads Calvin individually, averaging 1.94 per-game which ranks 42nd nationally.

Anna Fernandez leads Calvin in scoring at 15.2 points a game along with 24 three-point baskets. She was a member of the 2025 All-MIAA First Team and the 2025 D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region Third Team. She was named a (4

RyAnn Rohrer averages 11.8 points a game along with a team-leading 8.1 rebounds a game. As a sophomore in 2023-24, she was also named to the All-MIAA First Team and D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team in 2024. She missed the 2024-25 season due to injury. Junior guardÂ

Hope is led in scoring by sophomore post player Leah Richards who averages 12.2 points a contest. The Flying Dutch have a balanced attack with junior wing Maddie Petroelje (11.2 ppg), sophomore post Anna Richards (10.8 ppg) and senior guard Sydney Vis (10.5 ppg), all averaging better than 10 points per contest. Hope is shooting 36.5 percent from three-point range. Petroelje has a team-leading 36 three-point field goals (.462 percentage) to lead the perimeter attack.
Mark Christner is in his seventh year as the head coach of the Calvin University women's basketball program. In seven years as head women's basketball coach at Calvin, Christner has fashioned a won-loss record of 107-57. A 1999 Calvin graduate, Christner played three years of basketball with the Calvin men's basketball program and later served as an assistant coach with both the men's and women's programs. He went on to a 10-year stint as the head men's basketball coach at Waynesburg University (Pa.) before returning to his alma mater in the spring of 2019. He led Calvin to an 18-11 overall record a year ago which included an MIAA Tournament crown and a berth in the NCAA III Tournament. The MIAA Tourney crown was Calvin's first since 2015 while the NCAA III Tourney berth was Calvin's first since 2017. He has led Calvin to the MIAA Tournament semifinals in his six prior years as head coach. Hope is led by veteran head coach Brian Morehouse who is in his 29
th year at the helm of the Flying Dutch program. He has an all-time won-loss record of 747-105 which includes Division III National Titles in 2006 and 2022.
