The Calvin-Hope women's volleyball rivalry is set to renew on Tuesday night when the two rivals meet at 6:30 p.m. at Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse.
The contest is the MIAA conference opener for both teams. Calvin enters the match with an overall record of 12-2 while Hope comes in at 11-4.

Aerin Baker with 3.85 kills per set average and a .266 attack efficiency. She has 21 service aces and leads the Knights with an average of 4.47 points-per-set. She also averages 2.08 digs-per-set. Freshman outside hitter
Sarah Bradley averages 3.20 points-per-set. She averages 2.61 kills-per-set with a .256 hitting percentage. She also averages 1.08 digs-per-set. Senior middle blocker
Emma Ekblaw averages 2.82 points-per-set. She has a team-leading 43 blocks, averaging 0.90 blocks-per-set. Ekblaw hits at a team-leading .283 attack percentage while averaging 1.96 kills-per-set. Calvin features a 6-2 offense with sophomore setters
Delaney Kemp and
Grace Spoelma leading the attack. Kemp averages 5.24 assists-per-set with Spoelma averaging 4.02 assists-per-set. Sophomore Lina Kasubowski has a team-leading 29 service aces. Junior Tryna VanderZwaag is Calvin's libero. She averages 3.08 digs-per-set. She has 17 service aces.
Baker was recently named MIAA Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career. In 2024, she was named to the All-MIAA First Team, the AVCA All-Region (VII) Team and to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-America list.
Emma Ekblaw was named to the 2024 All-MIAA Second Team.
The Flying Dutch have won seven consecutive matches including victories over #7 Illinois Wesleyan and #14 Marietta this past weekend at DeVos Fieldhouse. Olivia Wyma has a team-high 180 points on the year. She is hitting at an impressive .399 clip, averaging 2.49 kills and 1.16 blocks-per-set. Junior Kamryn Burbridge has 172.0 points on the season. She hits at a 2.91 clip and averages 2.48 kills and 0.91 blocks-per-set. Brooke Fox has 165 points on the season. She averages 2.57 kills and 2.59 digs-per-set. Kathryn Oates delivers a team-best 4.56 digs-per-set along with a team-high 26 service aces. Senior Lauren Lee contributes a team-best 9.84 assists-per-set along with eight service aces and 27 blocks. Hope is 3-2 against AVCA Division III Top 25 foes in 2025.
Calvin is led by head coach
Amber Warners who is in her 24th season as head Calvin volleyball coach and has a record of 689-118 over her career. She also serves as Associate Athletics Director at Calvin and is a professor of kinesiology. During her first 23 seasons at Calvin, the Knights won three NCAA Division III National Championships (2010, 2013 and 2016) and recorded 13 seasons with at least 30 wins. Warners entered this season with a career winning percentage of .854, which ranks No. 1 among all active NCAA Division III head coaches.
Hope is coached by Becky Schmidt, who has led the Flying Dutch for the last 22 seasons. She also coached the University of Redlands women's volleyball team for three seasons. Schmidt has a career won-loss record of 587-170 that includes a national championship in 2014 and 15 appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament. She is ranked ninth nationally amongst active NCAA Division III women's volleyball coaches in terms of winning percentage (.776). A year ago, she led Hope to the NCAA III Championship semifinals. Schmidt is also a former standout middle blocker at Hope as a player. She was named a Division III All-American as a senior.
