ALLENDALE, Mich. – A small collection of field event athletes represented the Calvin men's and women's track and field teams on the final day of competition at the Grand Valley State Early Meet Invitational on Saturday.

In the women's discus, senior Karen Bekhet (Norwood, MA Whitinsville Christian) took third with a season-best throw of 136-11 that places her 23^rd on the NCAA III performance list. Senior Lindsey Kossick (Greenwood, Ind./Centergrove HS) was close behind in fourth place with a season-best throw of 135-0 that places her 30^th on the national list.

On the men's side, sophomore Jarrett Febus (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) produced a career-best throw of 135-4 in the javelin that was good for 11^th place individually while freshman Caleb Bachew (Benbrook, Texas Homeschool) was 13^th with a career-best throw of 123-1.

In the men's discus competition, junior Samuel Lamsma (Lakewood, Colo.\Denver Christian) was 19^th with a career-best throw of 116-4 while freshman Ben Ernstes (Kalamazoo, Mich./Otsego HS) was 23^rd (100-7).
